Seven Springs

“One of Oregon’s finest, most consistent vineyards,” according to The Wine Advocate, there is no vineyard in the Willamette Valley more highly valued by winemakers than Seven Springs. Other vineyards may ripen their fruit earlier, but the few extra days of hang time at Seven Springs rewards you with great acid balance and focused red and black fruit. Seven Springs Vineyard is located on the eastern side of the Eola Hills ridge. Established in 1982, over the years Seven Springs has provided fruit to many of the finest winemakers in the Willamette Valley.

In 2015 super sommelier/winemaker Rajat Parr, along with his co-winemaker and business partner Sashi Mooreman, purchased Evening Land Winery and the famed Seven Springs vineyard. Jeff sent a congratulatory text with a half-joking request for fruit. Although he was told he could likely have fruit in 2018, only a couple months later Jeff had secured 2 tons of East Ridge Block B Pinot Noir from a unique block planted in 2007 by legendary vigneron Dominque Lafon of Comtes Lafon in Burgundy. Unlike most new world Pinot Noir vineyards, this portion of the vineyard has many variations of the Dijon clone inter-mixed to mimic the diversity found in Burgundy. Evening Land hand selected only four-five wineries to sell fruit to; this opportunity to work with one of the new worlds “grand cru” vineyards is not taken lightly.
